Babywearing 101
This is a basic, 30-45 minute group class where we will introduce you to the concept of wearing your baby, explain briefly the proper positions to carry your child in order to support hip and spine development, and an introduction to the various types of carriers available today. There is time at the end of the class for questions and answers. The price of these classes vary based on location.
Comprehensive Babywearing Workshop
These courses last approximately an hour and a half and take place in a group setting. We will cover the four stages of infant spine and hip development, babywearing safety, reasons why babies innately desire to be “parent clingers”, the benefits of in-arms parenting and babywearing, and an introduction to the various carrier options available. This is an interactive class and parents will have the opportunity to test a wide variety of baby carriers using a demo-doll. Active participation is welcomed and encouraged. We highly recommend taking this course before your baby is born, however parents of young babies are also encouraged to attend. Course fee is $60 (per couple) and includes 15% off any carrier in our inventory. Classes are now running in Sanford, Casselberry, and Winter Springs! Contact Us for times/locations/and to RSVP.
Private Babywearing Consultation
This is a more in-depth, private consultation where we will discuss the theory of infant development after birth and optimum positioning for proper hip and spine development (depending on the age of your baby). We will try a variety of carriers to determine which style is the best for both the parents needs, and the temperament of the baby. We will then practice with this carrier until the parents/caregivers feel confident in using them on their own. The average consultation will last between 60 and 90 minutes. Ongoing telephone/email support is included.
Private consultations take place in the comfort and privacy of your own home. The rate for these consults is $75, which includes continued email/phone support. Additional mileage costs may apply for consults taking place outside a 20 mile radius of Oviedo, FL.
