Amber Nursing Necklaces

With contrasting colors and different shapes and size amber beads, this necklace is perfect to occupy your baby's hands while nursing!   This necklace is double-knotted in between each nugget, and it fastens with a screw clasp.

This is not one of our better necklaces to wear if you are looking to alleviate your own discomforts such as headaches or neck and shoulder pain, however.  Since the beads are different shapes and sizes, not all make good contact with the skin. The best necklace to wear to experience the therapeutic benefits of amber is a necklace with uniform shaped beads where each bead makes good contact with the skin.  That said,  a baltic amber breastfeeding necklace will still be much more beneficial to you than a breastfeeding necklace made with glass or plastic beads!

This necklace was strung by hand, and it is made of authentic Baltic amber, the most esteemed type of amber in the world. The translucency and color of amber depend on the amount of air bubbles contained within a piece of amber and their distribution. Some believe the color is related to the type of tree source.

Succinic acid is the most beneficial component of the amber. I have read that the darkest colored amber generally contains less succinic acid than lighter colors. I have also read that the more cloudy or opaque amber is, the more succinic acid it contains (and usually the more cloudy amber is the nearer to the color white it becomes).

Clean with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Avoid detergents and cleansers when possible as these substances over time will leave a residue on the amber that inhibits it's ability to release its healing properties into the skin.
